Gaddafi may be a bad guy, but I doubt if as many innocent people have die because of him during the past few days as have die in Obama’s War in Afghanistan (which is not to say Kaddafi won't catch up).

A new report from the Conflict Monitoring Centre (CMC) has reported that 2,043 Pakistanis have been slain in CIA drone strikes in the past 5 years, with the vast majority of them innocent civilians.

And while 2,043 is a lot of people to kill in the past five years, over 75% of them were actually killed in the past two years since President Obama took office. 2009 saw over 700 people killed in the CIA drone strikes, and the report shows 929 more killed in 2010.

And So Does America, Morally

America might have been able to come to the rescue of the Libyan people had it not morally bankrupt itself as a result of the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan. It came into those wars partially bankrupt from the Vietnam War.

That war might have been romanticized in America by Hollywood and America's jingoistic news media, but to the rest of the world it remains one of the great post-W.W.II crimes against humanity, ranking with the Anglo-Jewish destruction of Palestine and its people, the Soviet war against Afghanistan, and the Chinese invasion of Tibet. To the rest of the world, America has joined the ranks of the bad guys.
